Who we can help, and how to start
Our help is free. Because there are more tenants in trouble than lawyers to go around, we look at three things when you call.
You rent your home in Philadelphia
We help tenants in the city, in rowhouses, apartments, rooms and subsidized housing. We don’t represent landlords, and we don’t take commercial leases.
Your household income is within our limits
Most of our clients earn up to twice the federal poverty guideline for their household size. Seniors, people with disabilities and tenants with a hearing date can qualify above it, so ask.
Your problem is one we handle
- Evictions, notices and lockouts
- Repairs, heat, mold and lead paint
- Security deposits
- Discrimination and housing vouchers
If we can’t take your case, we’ll tell you so on the first call and give you the name of someone who may.
Tell us what’s happening
A few words is enough. A clinic lawyer or advocate calls you back within two working days, sooner if you have a hearing date.
